British Heart Foundation Fashion Show

Wednesday, February 24, 2010 Add event to Outlook calendar

Talented students from Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh Telford College are turning charity shop finds into catwalk chic for a unique fashion show organised for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland.

The event at the Jam House, Edinburgh, on Wednesday 24 February, will raise funds to help the nation’s heart charity fight Scotland’s biggest killer, heart disease.

February is National Heart Month and BHF Scotland is urging Edinburgh people to be a part of its ‘Red For Heart’ fundraising campaign. If you love clothes and want to get some ideas for updating your charity shops finds, or your own wardrobe, please buy a ticket for this unique fashion show today.

Over the past few months, Heriot-Watt Textile and Design students have been rummaging through the rails at BHF Scotland’s charity shops in the capital to find men’s and women’s clothes and accessories that they have customised into unique designs. Edinburgh Telford College students will be providing hair, make-up, music and photography for the evening.

In a unique twist, the catwalk show will be accompanied by a narrated love story that culminates in a parade of wedding outfits.

The £15 ticket includes a welcome drink and there will be a raffle and auction.

Buy your tickets from BHF Scotland on 0131 555 5891 or from a BHF Scotland shop. Students involved in the fashion show will also be selling tickets.
