1st Heriot-Watt University Research Staff Symposium

‘Developing your research career at Heriot-Watt’
The first ‘Research Staff Symposium’ will be taking place on Tuesday 9 February 2010, 2.00pm – 5.00pm. On the topic of ‘Developing your research career at Heriot-Watt’, it will feature speakers from both inside and outside the University on a range of career-related topics for researchers, including Dr John Nicholls, CEO of TMRI Ltd and Mrs Anne Fraser, Royal Society of Edinburgh. It will also provide an opportunity for researchers to discuss employability and career development issues with colleagues from People and Organisational Development.
This Symposium is open to all Postdoctoral Researchers, Research Associates and equivalent researchers at Heriot-Watt University and will be followed by an open lecture from specially-invited guest speaker (and alumnus and honorary graduate of Heriot-Watt), Prof David Miller FRS, FRSE from Stanford University (details at link below).
Lunch is offered for those who can attend early and the event will end with a wine reception to which all Symposium participants are cordially invited.
