Title: Ice storage – an efficient method for cooling buildings
Speaker: Sue Roaf, School of the Built Environment
This talk will look at the use of ‘coolth storage’ in buildings, where materials (such as water-ice) can be used to store cooling potential at times of low temperature, which can then be exploited at times of higher internal temperatures. This can result in considerable energy savings for buildings that traditionally might rely purely on large mechanical cooling systems.
