11th International Mother Tongue Day
Thursday, February 18, 2010

The Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies celebrates the 11th International Mother Tongue Day on Thursday 18 February 2010.
Languages, with their complex implications for identity, communication, social integration, education and development, are of strategic importance for people and the planet. When languages fade, so does the world’s rich tapestry of cultural diversity (UNESCO).
Second Year Students mark the occasion with a poster display on the theme of ‘Language’.
Join us in Mary Burton Building (MBG20) between 2.15pm and 3.15pm on Thursday 18 February.
