Come and join Heriot-Watt University and a panel of esteemed financial industry professionals at the Edinburgh International Science Festival – Scotland’s biggest and best annual celebration of science and technology.
Focusing on recent economic events, Gillian Tett, Assistant Editor of the Financial Times will chair a panel including the sociologist Donald MacKenzie, and market professional Terri Duhon to discuss whether science has a role in financial innovation, or is finance based on smoke and mirrors and the best we can do is appeal to magicians and their crystal balls.
The event is organised by Dr Tim Johnston, the UK Research Council’s Academic in Financial Mathematics who is based at Heriot-Watt University and the Maxwell Institute for Mathematical Sciences. Tickets are priced at £7.
