RSPB talk - In the land of Prester John
Tuesday, April 20, 2010

An Illustrated talk by Mike Betts
Mike has always been intrigued by Ethiopia: African highlands, second oldest Christian church in the world, the Queen of Sheba, Prester John,
let alone the extensive bird life which is endemic.
In October 2008 he went there with Naturetrek, and the extensively illustrated talk was initially based on that journey.
He returned there a year later, this to research the fascinating story of his sister-in-law’s family, which included their imprisonment at Magdala and rescue by the Napier Expedition in 1868. However he took his binoculars again, and the talk will cover both journeys.
Entry costs £2 and includes tea / coffee and biscuits.
Venue: Lindsay Stewart Lecture Theatre, Napier University, Craiglockhart Campus
Start Time: 19:30
End Time: 21:00
Organisation: RSPB
