Walk to work week
Monday, April 26, 2010 - Friday, April 30, 2010

Heriot-Watt University has signed up to the national ‘Walk to Work Week’ run by the charity Living Streets - and we want you to get involved.
Despite the name, Walk to Work Week is about more than just walking to work, and there are lots of ways to take part even if you live far from the office. There are five mini-challenges that can be completed: walking to work, walking from work, walking to a meeting, walking for a meeting and walking at lunchtime.
You could also try to walk a bit of your journey to or from work; perhaps parking a bit further away or getting off the bus a stop or two early.
What you need to do to take part is register at the website below ensuring that you also do Step 3 which registers the workplace as well. If you put in the postcode EH14 4AS you will see the University on the list. This will then link your profile to the Heriot-Watt University workplace team profile.
Walk to Work Week is on 26-30 April so get it in your diary. This is the start of a year of improving workplace health at Heriot-Watt University. Look out for opportunities to be a walk leader, buddy or organiser and participate in themed events.
For more details on these future events contact Juliet Hawthorn, Exercise Consultant, Activity Referral Centre, Sportsactive, Sports Academy, Edinburgh Campus on:

Thanks in advance for taking part! We will be doing a follow-up so please do let us know what you get up to and encourage your colleagues to sign up too. Don’t forget to register Heriot-Watt University as your workplace so that we can see what we've achieved overall.
Start Time: 09:54
End Time: 09:54
