“A Low Energy House on the Isle of Lismore”, Grigor Mitchell (Grigor Mitchell Architects)

This presentation will overview a low energy Passive House project in the Western Isles. The concept of the “Passive House” will be discussed along with the technologies, such as mechanical ventilation heat recovery and biomass boilers, that might be used with such dwellings. In relation to building modelling, the use of the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) will be described, demonstrating one possible route to very low-energy housing in the UK.
