Getting Grant Funding 2: Sources and HWU Processes

This is the second of three sessions designed to help academic and research staff who wish to learn more about successful approaches to obtaining research funding. Participants are encouraged to attend all three of the workshop in this series.

In this workshop Representatives from RES will provide an overview of sources of research funding and the mechanism for securing funding from these sources.

Topics included will be:
1. UK Research Funding Sources -An overview of the range of funding sources and how to get information about them
2. European Commission Funding -How the European Commission organises its research funding programmes and how to position yourself to apply
3. Working With Industry -Funding and best practise in knowledge and technology transfer
4. HWU Research Proposal Procedures - Heriot-Watt University assurance processes and help
