Thursday, February 9, 2012 Add event to Outlook calendar

We offer a set of three interlinked sessions especially designed to improve communication skills for research students. These workshops are particularly relevant for 2nd Year Research Students but may also be of interest to 3rd year Research Students. Research students wishing to attend these workshops are normally expected to attend ALL THREE workshops in the set.

1. Presenting your work to your audiences - Thurs 9 Feb 2012
In this session participants will be shown all the factors that contribute to success or failure in a presentation. This workshop has a particular focus on your body language, mannerisms and slide content.

2. Voice in Action - Thurs 16 Feb 2012
If you have ever thought that you are not using your voice to its full potential, or been concerned that it is not as strong or expressive, as you would like, Voice in Action, offers a practical introduction to effectively improving and enhancing your voice skill.

3. Performing in a real life environment – Wed 7 Mar or Fri 9 Mar 2012
This workshop continues on from the previous Communication for Researchers workshop. In this session participants will present to a small audience and feedback will be provided from the tutor and the other participants.
