This workshop is especially suitable for 2nd year research students.
Workshop Objectives:
The most important project that any research student will have to manage is their PhD. This workshop will provide research students with an excellent grounding in project management skills which should prove useful both for managing their doctorate as well as providing useful training for future employment.
By the end of the session you will:
1. Understand the basic concepts of project management and the project life cycle
2. Understand the various roles and responsibilities within project management
3. Be aware of skills required of a project manager and own strengths and training needs
4. Know what tools/techniques are available, why and how to use them – and when, how and where to seek further support
The workshop will be participative, with a mixture of delivery, group work, discussion and humour.
