Dr Alasdair Allan MSP and SCHOLAR

Dr. Alasdair Allan, MSP, Minister for Learning and Skills (with responsibility for Gaelic & Scots) together with a group of staff and pupils at James Gillespie's High School in Edinburgh recently met with colleagues from the University's SCHOLAR programme.

They were given an overview of SCHOLAR and the Minister was entertained by S1/S2 pupils with a Musical welcome of Gaelic Singing and musical instruments including the Clarsach.

The Minister chatted with the Higher and Advanced Higher pupils who were in the Library and on line using SCHOLAR materials in Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Biology and Gaelic.

Staff in SCHOLAR took the opportunity to highlight SCHOLAR's recent funding from Storlann to produce Gaelic taster science materials at level 3 for S1/S2 pupils.
