Heriot-Watt students chosen as finalists for the SIE - New Ideas Competition
Six ideas submitted by Heriot-Watt University students were chosen as finalists for the Scottish Institute for Enterprise New Ideas Competition.
The finalists have been invited to the Start Up Day on Saturday 11 February to learn from experts on how to improve their ideas and participate in workshops to develop valuable skills including how to successfully pitch in the competitions finals.
The SIE New Ideas Competition is aimed at students and recent graduates of Scottish Universities who have a business idea and would like to investigate the possibility of turning it into a business or social enterprise.
From nearly 30 ideas submitted by HWU students, six made the first cut to the national competition. Entries will be judged according to six categories with a cash prize of £500 each. The overall winner also receives £1000 in business funding.
