Charity Burns Night raises £3000 for local charities
The Charity Burns night held at the James Watt Centre on Saturday 28 January raised £3000 to be shared between Alzheimer's Scotland, Maggie's Cancer Care Centre Edinburgh and womanVcancer.
The event organised by Jacqui Baird and Susan Jordan (James Watt Centre Reception), was a memorable success. Guests were greeted by a piper Iain Drummond (Technician School of Engineering and Physical Sciences) and offered a welcome dram. The contemporary ceilidh band ‘Teannaich’ then kicked off the evening’s entertainment. True to form, the haggis was properly addressed and guests then tucked into a feast of haggis, neeps and tatties before finishing the evening off with a disco.
The organisers would like to thank Heriot Watt University for their contribution and continuing support. Iain the Piper for his talents and genourous free time. Everyone who attended the event. Family, friends and colleagues for their support, hard work, encouragement and kindness, especially Allan and Lena.
